Are you getting sick of seeing all of my Crescent Creations? We had the Crescent Cinnamon Rolls and then the Cheesy Crescent Rolls and now these Scrumdiddlyumptious Blueberry Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls.

I can tell you one thing..I am not sick of creating them OR eating them!

Ok, before I get into these, I busted out laughing out loud when I was uploading these photos. It looks like I created some sort of “crescent roll monster” with the 2 blueberries on the top.
Tell me you don’t see it??????

I mean look…they totally look like twins

The Geico Money thingy

My once thought to be Beautiful photo…sigh

Anyway, now that I totally ruined the photo for myself, lets talk about amazing.

Yeah, these are delightful. Easy too. They would be perfect on your Easter Brunch Table.

The inside is warm and creamy with sweet blueberries and the icing had a slight lemon flavor that goes perfect with the fruit.

Our dear friends from Kauai were recently staying with us with their adorable 8 month old. Vacationing from Kawaii??? I know, seems kinda crazy huh?
House guests=taste testers in my house. I tell them “honest opinions only” or they won’t be cooked dinner. The first variety of these I made were chocolate and peanut butter. They were good, but just not sweet enough. Doesn’t seem possible does it? Chocolate and peanut butter are a match made in heaven, but it didn’t seem to work for us all fried up in a wonton wrapper. So I pulled out the fresh raspberries and gave those a go.
PERFECT! The raspberries gave the perfect sweetness and tartness I was looking for.
Make sure you use the best chocolate you can find. I adore Scharffen Berger Chocolate.
The flavor is deep and complex, much different than the cheaper grocery store varieties!
It’s the kind of chocolate that you just let melt on your tongue because you don’t want it to end!
It is AMERICAN CHOCOLATE WEEK, so you need to run out and get some chocolate!
To see if Scharffen Berger Chocolate is available, click here

Me- un-mute phone, “Well, yes Sarah, you know I will buy some Girl Scout Cookies from you.”

How can one say no? I mean, we all know I have no will power.

So I sit here with 2 boxes of Samoas, 2 boxes of Thin Mints(now in the freezer) and 2 boxes of Trefoils. I can’t have that kind of stuff laying around the house. There is a reason I don’t buy cookies at the store…plain and simple. I. WILL. EAT. THEM!

Remember this video from my last Girl Scout Cookie Rant?

Samoas are my weakness. So I had to come up with a remedy to get rid of them. If I knew I had a box, I would gooble them right up.
I knew I had to put them in something. I had a big ol box of Rice Krispies in the pantry.
The Samoas found a new home….chopped up in the Rice Krispie Treats.

Valentines Day. Do you like it? Me..I’m on the fence.
Maybe back in High School when the boys were romantic, it was a cutsie and stuff.
But I have come to the realization the Valentines day is a Hallmark Day. I mean unless your man is Uber romantic, it will probably be just another day…..sigh. I think once you have kids, like everything else, the holiday becomes about them.

But we can still be a hopeless romantic and make some heart shaped Jello, right?
It’s cute and the kids liked to help.

Jello and kids kinda go hand in hand.

I got the idea of the multi colored Jello from the old school Jello Mosaic Dessert Bars
But what fun is it just cutting the jello into cubes? Let’s make hearts!!!!

Below is that it looks like before its final 2 hour chill.
As you can see, I used a small heart cookie cutter to cut my firmed red jello and arranged them in a 9 x 13 pan, then poured the sweetened condensed mixture over the top.

And once the firm, you invert the pan and cut them out.
Cute, huh?

It’s super easy to do!

The desserts are what get me. Not to say they aren’t delicious, but they are not so good for your waistline.
I wanted to lighten things up a bit. These in no way are a substitute for a big ol scoop of apple crisp, but they completely satisfy my sweet tooth without adding 1000 calories. And since I used Wasa Whole Grain Crispbread, I got to sneak some extra fiber in my diet. Sneaky-Sneaky.

Not quite sure what to do with your Wasa crackers? Well Except munch on them for a delicious, healthy snack? Here is a link to a Wasas recipe page.

Oh and another thing, have you tried the Wasa Thin & Crispy Flatbread? The Rosemary flavor is AMAZING..and my kids live it too.

Last year when I threw my sisters baby shower( you can view the awesome-ness here ), I didn’t want to give away a favor that was a cheap-y piece of plastic or something that someone was just going to throw away. I was going to make homemade jam to send home with the guests, but I just didn’t feel like all of that work, so I decided on Vanilla Sugar.
Vanilla Sugar is something I ALWAYS have on hand. I have a continual container of sugar that I just throw my used vanilla beans in, so I always have vanilla sugar to use in my baked goods, coffee, oatmeal…etc.
Vanilla Beans can be SUPER CRAZY expensive if you buy them at the store. I purchase mine in bulk on ebay for a considerably lower price.
I also gave homemade sugar to my kids teachers at the beginning of the year. Homemade gifts are always the best.

I made this batch pretty big because I had to make like 50 Mason pint jars of it, but the ratio of sugar to vanilla bean I used was
2 cups sugar to 1 vanilla bean.

* You can keep vanilla sugar on hand indefinitely. Anytime you use a vanilla bean, just toss it into your sealed sugar container and give it a shake.

*If you are making vanilla sugar for the first time and plan to keep it on hand, allow the vanilla bean to do its magic for about 2 weeks in a sealed container w/ the sugar. Give it a shake every so often.

Get you some beautiful PLUMP and MOIST vanilla Beans

Cut the bean in half

Slice it down the middle…..

But leave one end intact

See the shiny black inside..Those are the vanilla Seeds

With your finger or with the back of a knife, scrape out the seeds

Plop the seeds in your bowl with the sugar.

Heres the fun part, take your fingers and distribute the vanilla seeds into the sugar.

Keep mixing…it takes a bit. And soon you will have vanilla sugar.

To package it all nice and pretty, see below….

Get some pint mason jars, fabric and ribbon.

Hi all, I hope you had a wonderful Holiday Season. Mine, like I am sure everyone else’s was packed full and honestly is a bit of a blurr. I spent the last half of my Birthday(Christmas Eve) and into Christmas day cleaning up after my daughter who had the stomach virus. Poor little thing..who wants to be puking on Christmas? And then she gave it to me the day after Christmas..good times..good times. Let me just tell you that Red Robin tastes so much better going in than coming back out. ugggg

New Years Eve was great. My husband decided he wanted to have a party last minute. And by last minute, I mean the day before. Gotta love em’.
If you read this post, you know that none of my clothes fit me, so I began stressing out on what I was going to wear for the party. I mean, people usually get all fancied up for New Years.
So I decided to make our New Years party a PAJAMA party! Everyone had to come in the P.J’s. Sure, I still put on some make up, but let me tell you how comfy I was!!!!
I had too much to drink…doesn’t happen often, but when it does….good lord. Diet Coke and Cherry Flavored Vodka is VERY easy to chug down.
I was dancing all night long. One low point was, dancing to Beastie Boys- Brass Monkey with my dog under one arm and a wooden spoon in the other hand as a microphone.
I had fun

I am wishing each and everyone of you a Happy 2012.
I can’t thank you all enough for continually stopping by my blog and reading what I have to say. You all are very much appreciated. You make doing what I do worth every calorie!!!!
