Small things are generally cute, with the exception of small zits and fire ants.
Small balls are cute. And when they are covered in chocolate, that just puts them over the top.
Well then let’s add some pound cake, Jell-O pudding mix and banana.
We are now officially exploding with delicious cuteness.
These would be perfect as a little snack on your Easter table. The kids will eat them up. You might even pop a few in your mouth too.

Speaking of Easter, when do kids stop believing in the Easter bunny? My 9 year old and almost 7 year old are still on the bunny bandwagon. Makes me sad to think that this might be the last year for my eldest.
Sigh

I didn’t write this recipe, so it’s only fair to send you to its originator. I make it exactly per their directions.
So if you are interested in making them, pop on over to the Jell-o site here for the recipe.

Hi all, I hope you had a wonderful Holiday Season. Mine, like I am sure everyone else’s was packed full and honestly is a bit of a blurr. I spent the last half of my Birthday(Christmas Eve) and into Christmas day cleaning up after my daughter who had the stomach virus. Poor little thing..who wants to be puking on Christmas? And then she gave it to me the day after Christmas..good times..good times. Let me just tell you that Red Robin tastes so much better going in than coming back out. ugggg

New Years Eve was great. My husband decided he wanted to have a party last minute. And by last minute, I mean the day before. Gotta love em’.
If you read this post, you know that none of my clothes fit me, so I began stressing out on what I was going to wear for the party. I mean, people usually get all fancied up for New Years.
So I decided to make our New Years party a PAJAMA party! Everyone had to come in the P.J’s. Sure, I still put on some make up, but let me tell you how comfy I was!!!!
I had too much to drink…doesn’t happen often, but when it does….good lord. Diet Coke and Cherry Flavored Vodka is VERY easy to chug down.
I was dancing all night long. One low point was, dancing to Beastie Boys- Brass Monkey with my dog under one arm and a wooden spoon in the other hand as a microphone.
I had fun

I am wishing each and everyone of you a Happy 2012.
I can’t thank you all enough for continually stopping by my blog and reading what I have to say. You all are very much appreciated. You make doing what I do worth every calorie!!!!

So onto my top 10 recipe/posts of 2011 (according to Google Analytics)

Pretty aren’t they? At our family Christmas party, one of our cousins brought Oreo Truffles. Ummm, hello….where have they been all of my life? I ate ohhh, 5 too many. I knew I had to make them ASAP. She told me the round about recipe, but I decided to add a little zip. I added some Andes Peppermint Crunch Baking Chips. Good decision I tell ya. Not too peppermint-y, just a perfect hint of mint. They are easy to make if you are a patient person. I am not. Don’t get me wrong, they are easy to make, but me being the perfectionist I am, I can’t stand dipping things in chocolate and them not turn out perfectly smooth. But whatever, the taste makes them worth it.

Here is how to make them.

Get you a helper.

Preferably one not as dorky as this one. Must get that trait from her father.

Drop a package of Oreos into your food processor.

Give em’ a whirl.

Check to make sure they are all ground up.

Add 1 block of Softened Cream Cheese and whirl again.

Add 1 cup Andes peppermint Crunch Baking Chips, whirl yet again

This is what your final “dough” should look like

Roll them into gold ball sized balls.I used a tiny cookie scoop

Pop them into the freezer for 10-15 minutes until FIRM

Dip into melted chocolate and place on a wax paper or Silpat Lined cookie sheet. Sprinkle with a bit of crumbled cookie and they should look something like this.

Go make them…like yesterday.
If you can’t find the Andes Peppermint Crunch Baking Chips, you can just use the individually wrapped Andes Chocolates. Just chop them until you get 1 cup’s worth.

I have not had to seconds to even breath this Holiday Season. So I am regurgitating a Christmas craft I did two years ago here on my blog. So if you are new, these are new to you!!!

These are so simple to do and the kids love making them.

And as a bonus, you get to go to the candy store. Leave the kids at home, because a kid in a candy store can be quite dangerous! Oh wait, or am I talking about my self?

One might call the way I cut my fudge wasteful. See all the scraps left behind? Well, you see, you have to be creative. Most people serve coffee after the holiday dinner. So here is what I do…leave a plateful of the “scraps” next to the coffee station so people can drop pieces in their coffee! Instant PEPPERMINT MOCHA! Yeah, I’m a genius.

Ohhh no you don’t. Don’t you dare look at me like that.
You can blame my sister for this one. She is the one who told me about these little nuggets of pure chocolate and caramel crack rock. Poor mans turtles I call these. I love me some Turtle candies. After I made these and ate, ohhh about 8 of them, I sent her a text message, and I quote…

Your favorite bachelor did not get a rose

Coconut Ice candy is so cool..not literally cool, it’s not actually ice. It’s a chewy little morsel of sweet goodness.

It was quite popular at my sisters beautiful baby shower that I threw for her. in case you missed the awesomeness, you can view it here.

One word of advice…DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use regular sweetened flake coconut. It will be WAYYYYY too sweet. It is sweet enough as it is. So you must find some dried, unsweetened coconut. This is the brand I always use. Ok, you got it? NO SWEETENED coconut. Now that we have that all cleared up, go make some coconut ice.

Ohhh, and I forgot the best part, you can color it any color you little heart desires! And you can even add flavorings if you want, think..peppermint. YUM!
