Sometimes you just need to fry something. It’s a necessary evil.
Sure frying isn’t good for you, well neither is picking your nose, but I see people do that all the time. We will call it even.

I needed to get my brain working overtime because I wanted to created a recipe for the Johnsonville Wake Up To Johnsonville Photo Recipe Contest.

My husband might have had a little influence on this one. He always comes up with some whacked out food ideas. He wanted these on a stick, but the sausage links are just too thin for that, so I decided on the balls.

They are mighty tasty, mighty tasty indeed! Certainly not your everyday breakfast meal, but they sure are a nice delight every once in a while….you know, when you need a little oil in your life.

You can enter the Johnsonville Wake Up To Johnsonville Contest too.
Go to their Facebook Page, upload your Johnsonville Sausage Breakfast creation and you will be entered for the grand prize of an 11 piece set of professional cookware from ScanPan and a years supply of Johnsonville Sausage. Hurry, Contest ends May 13th!

There was a day that I did not like Avocados.
I do believe it was a time in my life where I must have been abducted by aliens and brain washed, I am sure of it.
Now, I can not get enough of them.
My love for Avocados began right after High School. Some of my friends went to the University of Florida. I would go visit them for the weekend and we would <del>drink</del> play Go Fish until we couldn’t <del>drink</del> play Go Fish anymore and walk over to Burrito Brothers.

Burrito Brothers is an Institution in Gainesville. It is literally a hole in the wall Taco joint with some questionable characters working there with quite possibly every tattoo know to man tattooed onto them, but the food is AMAZING. I would get a primo beef, double wrapped, with sour cream, tomatoes and red sauce. Mmmm. My metabolism was still with me at that time. My friend got guacamole and offered me some. I of course turned my nose up at it, but gave in because all of the <del>drinking</del> playing Go Fish I had been doing. My life at that moment was transformed.

So I present to you my FAVORITE breakfast sandwich. I crave it on a daily basis. And it fills me up for a long long time. So if you are an avocado obsessed person like me, you must try this. Oh and get yourself some good quality English Muffins. My favorite are Bays English Muffins. They ARE THE BEST. They are thick and what you would think a homemade English Muffin would taste like. You can find them in the dairy section of the store. YUM

This satisfying breakfast sandwich does not have much of a “recipe” but I will share with you what I do.

It’s ok to drool a little bit at this photo. I did.

Are you getting sick of seeing all of my Crescent Creations? We had the Crescent Cinnamon Rolls and then the Cheesy Crescent Rolls and now these Scrumdiddlyumptious Blueberry Cream Cheese Crescent Rolls.

I can tell you one thing..I am not sick of creating them OR eating them!

Ok, before I get into these, I busted out laughing out loud when I was uploading these photos. It looks like I created some sort of “crescent roll monster” with the 2 blueberries on the top.
Tell me you don’t see it??????

I mean look…they totally look like twins

The Geico Money thingy

My once thought to be Beautiful photo…sigh

Anyway, now that I totally ruined the photo for myself, lets talk about amazing.

Yeah, these are delightful. Easy too. They would be perfect on your Easter Brunch Table.

The inside is warm and creamy with sweet blueberries and the icing had a slight lemon flavor that goes perfect with the fruit.

Hi all, I hope you had a wonderful Holiday Season. Mine, like I am sure everyone else’s was packed full and honestly is a bit of a blurr. I spent the last half of my Birthday(Christmas Eve) and into Christmas day cleaning up after my daughter who had the stomach virus. Poor little thing..who wants to be puking on Christmas? And then she gave it to me the day after Christmas..good times..good times. Let me just tell you that Red Robin tastes so much better going in than coming back out. ugggg

New Years Eve was great. My husband decided he wanted to have a party last minute. And by last minute, I mean the day before. Gotta love em’.
If you read this post, you know that none of my clothes fit me, so I began stressing out on what I was going to wear for the party. I mean, people usually get all fancied up for New Years.
So I decided to make our New Years party a PAJAMA party! Everyone had to come in the P.J’s. Sure, I still put on some make up, but let me tell you how comfy I was!!!!
I had too much to drink…doesn’t happen often, but when it does….good lord. Diet Coke and Cherry Flavored Vodka is VERY easy to chug down.
I was dancing all night long. One low point was, dancing to Beastie Boys- Brass Monkey with my dog under one arm and a wooden spoon in the other hand as a microphone.
I had fun

I am wishing each and everyone of you a Happy 2012.
I can’t thank you all enough for continually stopping by my blog and reading what I have to say. You all are very much appreciated. You make doing what I do worth every calorie!!!!

So onto my top 10 recipe/posts of 2011 (according to Google Analytics)

August 22, 2011

Oh yeah, fall is in the air. Pfffttt, yeah right..not here in Tampa. It won’t feel like fall, well until about February, when it starts to get “cold”. But I am seeing pumpkin pop up everywhere on the net, so I thought I would jump on the band wagon.

I am an oatmeal lover. As a kid, I ate the “Rolled Oats”. But as an adult, I have grown to appreciate a more “toothier” oatmeal. One with more substance and flavor. So I moved onto Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal. Since it takes about 30 minutes to cook, I would make a big batch at night and reheat it in the morning. Kind of a P.I.A.

Que, COACH’S OATS. The fine folks at Coach’s Oats were one of our sponsors at the infamous RockHer Bash I co-hosted with Susan and Brandi. I had never had their product prior to then. Actually, never even heard of it.
When I got home, I cooked some oatmeal from a sample pack they provided for our attendees. One bite and I was hooked. It only took 5 minutes to cook and it had a wonderful nutty flavor. I am all about saving some time.

Sooo, I am a convert. No more 30 minute oatmeal for me. Coach’s Oats rocks my taste-buds.

RIGHT?

Still I hear so many people say, “I never eat breakfast.” Well if you are of of those people, well shame on you, you non breakfast eater you! Breakfast gets your brain going, breakfast gets your metabolism going and it totally helps you from gorging later in the day. Studies have been done y’all. So eat your breakfast.

I love love love oatmeal. It fills me up and it is super good for you. No, I am not talking about the pre packaged, pre flavored stuff. Sure that is what we grew up on. Make your own and control what is in it. Steel cut oats are my favorite. They have a delicious little chew to them, a totally different texture than regular oats. They do take about 20 minutes to cook. I know I don’t have 20 minutes in my busy mornings to cook oatmeal. What I do is make a big batch at night, then pop it in the fridge. That way I have “instant” oatmeal every day during the week and just switch up the toppings.

1 1/2 cup water

1 1/2 cup milk (I use skim or almond milk)

1 cup steel cut oats

1 teaspoon cinnamon

5 packets of Splenda (or sugar)

Your choice of toppings..bananas, blueberries, strawberries (whatever is fresh and in season)

I also drizzle a bit of Agave Nectar over the top.

YUM-A-LICIOUS!
