These Cake Batter Waffles were born out of desperation.
I had a weak parental moment one evening and bribed my kids with homemade waffles the next morning if they would just get along for 10 minutes.
The bribe worked and they got along for 11 minutes and 37 seconds.
The next morning I woke up and had to keep my side of the deal…homemade waffles.
Guess what? You guessed it……..NO FLOUR.
Can’t make waffles without flour. Well, I suppose you can, but my kids wouldn’t dig that.
Sooo, In my desperation, I took a chance and broke out the cake mix.
Mind you , I didn’t tell my kids that I was using cake mix for the waffles, because I am sure I would have gotten the “ewwwww” response from them.
They sat down to the table after arguing about who took someones pickaxe on MineCraft.
One bite is all they took and the fighting stopped. So in essence I should rename the waffles, “Peacekeeper Waffles”.
They said they were the “BEST WAFFLES EVER!”
Oh and it didn’t hurt that I cooked them in the most amazing waffle baker in all the world..the KitchenAid® Pro-Line Waffle Baker.
More on the Waffle Baker later this week and I just might have one to give away to one of you 😉
