Favorite Things Thursday

A few years ago, I got off my wallet, went to Williams-Sonoma and bought some knives, very expensive knives.
Then a few months later,my sister and I took our Mom to the Metropolitan Cooking show to have lunch with Paula Deen ( yeah, we are good daughters) oh and we meet her scrumptious boys too!
At the show my sister bought some knives, Cutco Knives. I had heard of them in the past, but didn’t give them a second thought because the name sounded cheap and I thought they looked chincy. My sister claimed she loved them. I used hers and fell in love, but I had just bought some expensive German knives, so I couldn’t  justify a new purchase.
Fast forward a few years….. someone talked me into having a Cutco rep come to my house( did y’all know I am a pushover?) I said , “sure, but I am not buying anything.”

Anyway, I was so impressed by the knives I wanted to buy the whole shebang! However I couldn’t afford the whole shebang. The only thing I could afford was 4 steak knives(because I so desperately needed them) and some kitchen scissors. Wait, did you hear the tiny violin music? hmm.

So if anyone wants to fork over the OVER $3k to me so I can buy the Cutco Ultimate Set  ,feel free to contact me…I gladly accept Paypal.

I love love love these knives and scissors. The steak knives will cut through the toughest piece of meat like it is a buttery filet mignon. And the scissors will cut through anything, even bones (no, not people bones).
If your product ever gets dull, they will actually come to your home and sharpen your knives for you and they have a FOREVER guarantee. Yeah, that’s pretty awesome!
And they are made in the USA. Thats a big deal for me.

So if you are in the market for a new knife set and you are willing to spend some money…I highly recommend Cutco!

Comments

  1. I love Cutco knives! My brother sold them for a while a few years ago, and he gave me the few he had when he moved to Bolivia last year. I definitely reach for them first before any of my others. My mother-in-law has a big beautiful set of them that I am sooo jealous of!

  2. I really need some new knives…my grocery store knife that I paid $12 for is not cutting it anymore! (no pun intended, hah)

  3. I got a set of knives as a wedding gift 20+ years ago and finally broke down and bought some new knives. I’ve never heard of Cutco – I bought Chicago Cutlery and they are pretty sweet. I didn’t realize how hideous my knives were until I bought new ones. I’m still using the hand mixer I got as a wedding gift & and it still works as well as it did when I first got it. Several weeks ago you wrote about Bar Keepers Friend – another product I never heard of – and I wanted to try it on my stainless cookware. It is wonderfully fabulously awesome! My cookware, which is relatively new but looked like crap, now looks brand new. YAY for Bar Keepers Friend and YAY for you posting about it. Happy spring!

  4. I so love Cutco knives… it’s the only set of knives my parents have ever owned.

  5. I knew a Cutco sales rep in college! He never actually did the whole schpiel for us, maybe he should have!

  6. My son sold Cutco one summer. I have a set of steak knives and a very nice wood block full of knives. I still occasionally go to their website and order something else! Love them!

  7. Absolutely love my Cutco knives. Totally recommend them.

  8. Geoff Ferris says:

I grew up in Olean, NY (where the knives are made). My grandparents retired from Cutco and I’m glad to see that these knives are gaining attention outside of the little town they’re made in.

  9. I have the same steak knives and they are amazing. I have had them since 2007 and they still work great!!
