Need A Laugh?

Glamor

You laughed, didn’t you?
Me too, don’t worry.

ME. Circa 1992. 16 years old. Glamor Shots.

It’s all shades of wrong, isn’t it?

I mean, come on, let’s point out the painful obvious…

the hair…no comment
the press on nails..really??
those earrings…totally ghetto
the sequin jacket…borrowed from Elton John or Neil Diamond..can’t remember
the sequin bustier…got that from Madonna
the eyebrows…I suppose I was channeling Brook Shields
the THREE gold rings…it was the 90’s
the lips…RED baby..on a 16 year old?

Unfortunately the big forehead (or as I call it my 5 head) is still with me.

So there you have it..one of my most embarrassing photos ever. Totally over done.
Glamor Shots is out of business, right? Please tell me they are.

I was HOT {cough cough}

Comments

  1. Nice. The popped collar is just the icing on the cake! Love it. Have a good weekend, lady!

  2. Love it! Glamour shots is still in the malls in NJ. I just received an ad postcard from them recently…haha!

  3. I have a few of those haunting my past as well!! Better to just put it out there! 😀 Thanks for the smile on this cold and rainy Friday.

  4. No. Words.

    *snort*

  5. The sad thing is that you could have kept all of the clothes, they are back in fashion. And i LOVE the hair. No laughing needed.

  6. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!

  7. Ellen DeGeneres shows those kind of photos on her show, send it in! 😉 And you look like you’re
at least 25, is that good? 😉

  8. there is no way in hell I’m posting mine. yours is far better than mine.
i like yours mine is soooo cheesy!

  9. Holy crapballs! I think my glamour shot is in the same exact jacket! LOL! They must have got a discount somewhere. I have to say, I don’ t think yours beats my “other” one where I am in a studded cowgirl hat and black leather jacket. EEK! What the hell did this company do to the youth of our generation! It always makes me bust a gut to see a realtor or some other buisness card that the lady uses her Glamour Shot…REALLY?!?!

  10. Thanks for the laugh, I really needed it today. I never had glamour shots done, thank goodness!!!

  11. Love it!!! And yes, you are hot!

  12. HA!! I love it!

  13. I like your hair better than mine in 1991. Senior pictures taken at Glamour shots and mom still has the picture up in the house! UGH! Probably because I no longer wear any makeup and she wants to remember me back when I did keep my face just so! Thinking we were oh so marvelous back then! Now that there is photo shop it brings Glamour Shots to a whole new level! Scary!

  14. Amaaaazing. My mom wanted me to have glamour shots done and I refused. Now I kind of wish I’d done it, just to have a hysterical photo to look back on!

  15. Oooooh that’s a good one! Smoking hot lady! Hahaha! Press-on nails, that takes me back!

  16. I think Glamour Shots always overdid it. Maybe that’s why they are out of business. 😉

  17. heather @ sweet sins says:

I freaking love it! Glamor shots should totally come back!

  18. LOL, OK, well if I show you mine you would shine in comparison so we won’t go there.

  19. You’re freaking awesome for posting this!! I love it!!

  20. The best part is you’ve improved with age.

  21. I totally remember Glamor Shots in the mall. I never got to go there, and always wanted to! This is too funny, thanks for sharing!

  22. I begged to get a glamor shot and my mom would let me. Back in the day I would have been so jealous over your hair. Such good curl and volume! Did you use benders?!

  23. LOL your descriptions are hilarious! I’ll bet you loved the picture at the time though, right?

  24. I love, love, LOVE it! Thank you for the smile ;-).

  25. You looked like a character on Saved By The Bell – I love it! 😀

  26. My eyebrows were even bigger than yours (think Bert from Sesame Street) and my hair was bigger too. It was a SCARY time, was it not? I did laugh, so thank you!

  27. Let’s put a spin on what you just posted…..hundreds of women took up a “fun” moment with Glamor Shots. It filled a need like a spa. Was it silly? Yeah…so. Your photo was nice, see nothing wrong with it. Guess I don’t understand the “ghetto” earrings comment, actually took a slight offense to it but to each her own with their experience behind a comment. I guess if the photo was that bad, you wouldn’t have posted it. Your photo is nice, I’ve taken or seen worse and that was after the transformation.

    • If you have been a long time reader of my blog, you would realize that I often make fun of myself. And that is exactly what I was doing with that post.I never stated I hated the photo, I was merely stating it was comical. I loved that photo at the time it was taken back in 1992. However, now it makes me laugh every time I see it. Sorry you took offense to the “ghetto” term. I certainly don’t mean to offend anyone. But I suppose I could offend anyone with just about anything I say. Me personally, I try not to let things like that bother me.
Please remember, my blog is written for recipes and fun commentary.

  28. Leslie…… I’m noticing your not looking directly AT the camera, but down to the right a bit… All I can think of is you’re looking at the photographers crotch! Sorry, but that’s what made me laugh even harder!
